- Anamnesie Land does not exist but comes from real spaces which have an old story. Brought back artificially, the neon signs convey in every image a reactivation of the memory of places, which are today in the process of reconversion or lost in the landscapes. This creates a kind of dialogue between the word and the building. The signs, symbols of the society of show and consumption, contribute to enhance the gaps between the original function of the building and what we could name as their second chance to exist in the collective memory. According to the depicted spaces, there are different shifts in meaning, and this is carried out by a close relationship between several elements: the shape of the building (what it conjures up), its anchoring in the History and the journalistic current events. This "compilation" , due to emotional aspects and more objective ones, are going to determine the neon.
As for Anamnésie, it is a term used in medicine which means the history of a disease. Evoked in a metaphoric way here, Anamnesie Land brings together spaces of fashionable evolving past in a context of crisis and wars.
